I am a short person. I cannot reach to the bottom of the wash cylinder. I am going to have to get a pincher stick or something to assist in snagging the clothing from the bottom of the cylinder. The removable agitator is a nice feature; however, placement of piece is tricky during wash cycle when not in use. I am concerned the latching pieces will break off. I appreciate the glass top on the washer to visualize the laundry and see it spin. I have not figured out how to judge the water-level, nor have I tested the machines capacity for larger loads. The QR code for the washer was not on the paper attached to the appliance.

I had a 16 year old washer, very reluctant to give it up. My new Whirlpool is excellent. It is easy to find the correct settings/ water temp, type of clothes, etc. Very easy to use. I was worried it would be too high tech for me. But it is not.

Machine stopped working properly in less than 1 yr

Machine quit working properly in less than a year. Scheduled warranty service, took them a week to come out, then 2 weeks to replace a part (had to be ordered - main computer board). That did not fix the issue, and now 2 more parts need to be ordered. It has been a week since they told me that, and neither the service provider nor Whirlpool can give me an ETA on one of the parts. Now I am told it has been escalated, and I can call back in 5 MORE business days to see if they can locate the part. If not, then they will consider replacing the washer. This has been going on for over a month with no washer. If you can't find the part and the machine is under warranty - you should replace the machine............ EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AND WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE!!!!!

I received this washer on a Tuesday and on Wednesday the next day it was having problems. Reached out to whirlpool and and couldn't get a tech out till Monday... and literally a 2hrs after the tech left the washer was back not working after I was assured the problem was resolved. Now im currently waiting on another tech to come out again!!!! I pray this really works this time!!! Cause I need to wash!!!!

The reason I didn't give a five star rating is because there is no alarm when washer is finished and there is a gap when the lid is closed, which releases a lot of moisture int the air. I purchased this washer because my old Kenmore washer finally died. I loved that washing machine and it lasted over 10 years. I purchased the Whirlpool because I know they were made by the same company. It washes the clothes well and the large capacity is great. But you can tell they don't make things like they used to. The soap compartment is very flimsy and not built into the machine like the Kenmore. Also would like it to show time remaining for cycle. That feature is only available on the wi-fi compatible Whirlpool washing machines.

Won't get clothes all soaked. Many times the top half of load will be dry. Defeats the upgrade to a large tub. Many times clothes are still soaked - will end without going through the spin cycle. Usually when any setting other than "normal" is used. lock broke and needed a repair person. NOTHING works on this piece of junk. I have owned it 3.5 months.EDIT: No timer to know how much time is left, no way to add (or fix off balance load) once started, no alarm to tell you it is done.

Beware!!! There is NO, I repeat, NO detergent or fabric softener dispenser. Manual says to pour soap in, then add clothes. No option to get water on the detergent before adding clothes. Had to order some kind of ball as softener dispenser. Ridiculous. For some reason, the water filling the tub is super noisy. Additionally, there is no timer - no info on how long the load will take or how much longer the load will be. This is brand new and I hate it Do yourself a favor and consider other washers.

I bought this washer a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. It gets the clothes very clean, with little soap necessary and I like that the agitator is removable. I usually keep it in, but for comforters, I remove it. I like the various cycles it offers and that I can have more water in the tub if I choose the deep water cycle. I buy Whirlpool everything for appliances, so does the rest of my family. It has proven to provide an excellent, long lasting product.

This washer should not be sold as 5.2-5.3 Cu. Ft. because you cannot use all of that space for laundry. I have had nothing but problems with the machine becoming off balance when I was bulkier items (bedding, towels, etc). I had a technician come out and was told I should only be filling the washer roughly halfway. Then why did I buy a machine with a large capacity? I had a similar model at my last residence (rental) and I had no problems. I am very disappointed in the product.

Pleased with Washer performance. Washer is significantly louder than Whirlpool Front Loader it replaced. Design of Leveling Legs will not allow Washer to be lowered enough for a 5'- 0" person to reach bottom of Tub in a comfortable position. Whirlpool matching Dryer Leveling Legs allow the Dryer to be lowered approximately 1" lower that Washer. Disappointed that Washer did not have Whirlpool Nameplate attached to front of Washer matching the Dryer..(see attached Photo) I would recommend the Washer given its performance.

This washer is amazing!! The size is great and I never knew how awesome it could be having the best of both worlds with a removable agitator!! Overall, I like the simplicity but large selection of the wash cycles however it does restrict you to some degree when picking water levels on certain cycles. For example, on bulky items cycle it only allows you to do high or medium water levels as opposed to the sensing water feature. When I wash things that absorb a lot of water like bath mats, waterproof pet mats & furniture covers, etc. they absorb so much water that the spin cycle cannot get nearly enough water out to dry them without running an additional drain and spin cycle. And lastly, my only other complaint would be that there™™s no additional drawer to put any kind of additional additive like sanitizer along with fabric softener in a cycle but it™™s all doable just not as straightforward as fancier machines. Overall, I love this washer and I™™d buy it again in a heartbeat!!

I love my new washer. It washes the laundry great. The only thing we had was the front adjustable leg cracked and fell off throwing the washer off balance. We were able to get it back on and need to get another one but otherwise very pleased with this machine.

Where to start - Agitation is great. Clothes The scrubbing action is perfect, whether I'm cleaning pet bedding, large load or just a light wash. Laundry doesn't bunch, and there's a shorter wash than when I used my old washer. I have a top loader and am thrilled with being able to look at the load while it is washing without having to stop the wash, open the lid, and view it. The water level adjusts great no matter how much I'm washing. Saves water. I've never had a snagging issue with it.

Wouldn™™t Buy Another Whirlpool

I looked at two different sets and brands for months before finally deciding on this one is the one that I wanted because of the size, capacity, removable agitator, and you could adjust the water level. The set is sleek looking. Although I wish it displayed cycle times, it doesn™™t . Delivered 3 weeks ago and the drum is already off balance to cause a violent shake across the floor. It also took 4 re-washes on one load to drain the water because the ™drain and spin™ cycle doesn™™t even work. Guess it™™s irrelevant so not sure why it™™s even an option. Called whirlpool for service and the rep seemed to act like I didn™™t know how to wash clothes. Asked Numerous times if the washer was balanced, what settings I was using, and what I was washing. Stated if the tech comes and determines I wasn™™t washing clothes correctly, i™™d be responsible for the $150 service fee. Regardless of the outcome, I am not paying anything. I™™ve had this washer for three weeks and I asked for a new one and they refuse to honor that and said they will look at it. I did purchase the extended warranty so I guess we™™ll be best friends by the end of the washers life. A company that stands behind their product, should do just that.

From the first wash it was so noisy that we had to close the door to wash the clothes. When contacting you we were told that the noise is normal. Then when we disagreed, they sent out a technician who said that it was normal. Now we are waiting for parts to fix what was supposed to be normal. Why should we have to repair a brand new washer when it was defective from the start? We should be getting our money returned so we can buy a new washer that doesn't have problems from the start.

The loudest appliance I™™ve ever owned! When starting or shifting gears, there™™s a deafening sound. Cycle sound tolerable, but must keep laundry room door closed when operating during daytime. Also find washer very hard on clothes since they are all twisted tightly together at end of cycle, even on delicate setting. No ™soak™™ cycle. All in all, very disappointed with the product. Purchased on recommendation of a relative who lives in a very spacious home and where laundry is near garage, not living area.

Has trouble balancing out and spinning all the water out on heavier loads. Would not use powder detergent; it splashes and leaves white residue on the machine and the walls of the drum. It is quite loud as it runs. I don't like the press-and-hold buttons to start the machine. It's pretty basic for the price of the machine. I love the color of the machine.

One star is too many! Machine delivered to a new home Dec. 27, 2025. Moved in January 19, 2026, started using and it was running so hard, spinning so tight it was damaging all our clothing. We tried agitator in, agitator out, deep water, etc but nothing worked. 2/17/26 we filed a warranty claim. 2/18 it stopped completely in the middle of a cycle. Had to wait until 3/3 to get a repairman out from their warranty service. He said it™™s a control panel and it™™s a fire hazard so keep machine unplugged. We waited a few weeks, part came, they replaced (3/17/26) but didn™™t fix the issue. Whirlpool scheduled another warranty company to come out two days later (3/20/26), but the day before (3/19/26) they called and said ™we can™™t make it™ and we had to wait until 3/30. They come out and identify multiple issues and order 4-5 parts, we wait again™¦ 4/16/26, guy comes back with parts and replaces some but then cannot get the top off to finish. He calls Whirlpool while in my home and they tell him to BREAK THE TOP OFF MY MACHINE in order to replace the parts and then just order a new top, what?!? At this point, we™™ve had to arrange FIVE different service calls to our home, have been spending hundreds of dollars at the laundromat and Whirlpool says, we have to keep trying to fix! I emailed some executives and the board and then get a call from someone saying I can select a new machine from Whirlpool, Maytag or Amana (all same company). I wanted a refund but they would only offer a replacement, but said I could choose. We spent time researching and none of the reviews are great (STAY AWAY from these brands!) but we selected a Maytag set since we had them previously without issue. Delivery was today and they couldn™™t even get this brand new Maytag washing machine to work - at all! It kept throwing codes and they couldn™™t get any functionality so they had to take it back with them. The brand new washing machine (Whirlpool model WTW6157PB1) never properly functioned and has required us to use a laundromat since 2/17 and it is now 5/28 with no resolution. The brand new Maytag model MTW6200RF couldn™™t be installed at delivery because it didn™™t work! Do NOT buy machines from these 3 brands!!!

Bought from Home Depot a couple of weeks ago. I had put a small load in and wanted to see how the machine was working. There was barely any water in the tub and the clothes were not moving...they were just sitting on the bottom of the tub while the agitator was spinning NOTHING. Decided to test it with a larger load. This time the top layer of clothes NEVER GOT WET and the agitator was still not moving anything around. I went to Home Depot and they said I could not return it because it was past 48 hours...I would have to contact Whirlpool. They scheduled a technician to come out. In the meantime, I did some research and found that people who purchased this machine were having the same complaint and stated that we should change the setting to "Bulky" and "Deep Water". This would increase the water and maybe get the clothes moving. When I tried this, there was more water in the tub and all the clothes actually got wet. However, the agitator was not moving the clothes at all...the same clothes are in the same position when the wash was complete. I video-taped the washer in intervals for the technician to see so he didn't have to stay a whole hour for the cycle to complete. He could clearly see the clothes weren't moving and stated so. He then sent the video to his boss, but the boss came back with "Machine is working as designed." My question is...what is the purpose of an agitator? If it serves no purpose...then why include it in the design? I feel like I am getting gaslit here. Everyone can clearly see that the agitator is not moving the clothes but then they state that it is working as designed. CRAZY LOGIC! Now we are stuck with a trash washing machine and our clothes just sit in water not getting clean. In order for clothes to get clean, they have to move around. One review I read said that they periodically take all their clothes to a laundry mat just so they can know that their clothes are clean. That is crazy! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Don't worry...this will probably break down in a year or so and I will move on to a SPEED QUEEN MACHINE.

This Whirlpool washer/dryer set is, without exaggeration, one of the worst purchases I™™ve ever experienced™"and Whirlpool as a company should be embarrassed to sell something this bad. Predatory Policies & Useless Customer Service Let™™s start with the trap: You cannot return this machine after using it ONE time. So you™™re expected to spend hundreds (or thousands) of dollars and just™¦ hope it works? That™™s not a policy™"that™™s a warning sign. And their solution? Send a technician. But if that technician says nothing is ™wrong,™ YOU pay for the visit™"even if the machine clearly performs terribly. Whirlpool has completely set this up so the customer loses no matter what. The Washer Barely Functions This machine didn™™t just disappoint™"it failed almost immediately: -Broke within 24 hours. Second load ever and it froze. I had to unplug and reset it like it™™s some glitchy electronic, not a brand-new appliance. -Doesn™™t clean clothes. The ™AI sensing™ is a complete joke™"it flat-out DOES NOT WORK. It uses so little water that clothes come out still soapy. I had to rewash my very first load™"and then run a second cycle with just water and no soap just to get everything properly rinsed. -Wildly inconsistent water usage. Other times, clothes don™™t even get fully saturated. -Starts washing without actually wetting everything. It begins spinning while parts of the load are still dry. That™™s not washing™"that™™s just spinning dirty clothes. -Locked lid the entire cycle. You can pause it to check your clothes, but that™™s about it™"there™™s zero real control. If there isn™™t enough water (which happens a lot), you can™™t add more or fix it. So, you™™re stuck watching it underperform with no way to actually do anything about it. The Dryer Is Just as Useless Took 3 HOURS to dry towels. That™™s not inefficient™"that™™s ridiculous. My decades-old Whirlpool dryer performs better than this ™upgrade,™ which is honestly embarrassing. Even Delivery Was a Mess The first unit showed up damaged, and it took a full week to replace. Bought this model to replace our Samsung front loader after 7 years. IT IS TERRIBLE. It becomes off balanced with the slightest bit of weight. Bath towels, beach towels, blankets- the washer tries to balance by spinning and adding water, but eventually just stops, leaving sopping wet laundry that must be pulled out. It's aggravating, heavy to move the laundry, and takes forever. Laundry is a miserable chore because of this thing. Whirlpool was absolutely no help, telling me to "balance the load better", which I do and it makes no difference. We're going to have to take a hit to the wallet to get something that actually works well and sell this junk to another poor soul that hopefully washes only underwear and socks.

Not impressed. On a light load the machine vibrated so bad it locked up. Nothing in the manual mentioned on how to clear this issue. So now we need to make sure the load is heavy and enough water is used to keep the machine from bouncing off the floor. After a service call we know how to reset the unit if it happens again. Only had the machine for two weeks. Issues with the dryer as well.
