From the first wash, cleaning with a powdered detergent was compromised. The problem appears to be water infiltrating the detergent dispenser during the first rinse, washing out half the cleaning charge before the wash cycle. Hopefully, Maytag's reputation for value and longevity will mitigate this annoyance over time.

Didn't like silverware basket.

The door is very stiff when opening. The silverware tray is so dark that you cannot see where to insert the silverware. We actually kept the old rack from the previous dishwasher and are using that since the plastic housing of the slots is silver and you can actually see where to insert the silverware. I'm glad we kept this rack from the old appliance.

I needed to replace a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that had served us very well for more than 15 years (including my own replacement of the control board due a lightning strike and a failed water line input solenoid valve), so I selected this particular Maytag unit. Overall, I'm very pleased with how well this unit performs, including how quiet it is and the convenience of the display interface. My only minor complaint is that the design and fabrication of the top rack incorporates a centralized linear component (versus two separated linear components) that prevents convenient and stable positioning of various items which had been easily accommodated by our previous dishwasher. Overall, though, a great dishwasher!!

Wanted to wait till we ran this for a while before submitting a review. Very good dishwasher for the price - no problems with any type of dirty dishes, cycles are all good but best part quieter than we thought. We were going to go with a lower db than the 50 on this dishwasher but this is perfect. Also like the food chopper for the drainage is good to have. Very pleased now just hoping for 10 years of usage without issues!

So far, so good. Very quiet and appears to do the job well. If I have one complaint it would be regarding the silverware collector. It's on the side of the bottom rack and cannot be moved to the front. In order to put silverware into the machine you need to pull out the bottom rack (except for the very front of the collector)

I would give it a 5 but as octogenarians the placement of the utensil rack is difficult. The utensil front position is fine but the one in the back is difficult to reach without completely opening the door. It would be nice if it had 2 small utensil racks on each side of the front. We use a lot of utensils and not a lot of plates.

It never ceases to amaze me how much cleaner our dishes are getting. With our old dishwasher, we had to rinse all our dishes very well prior loading them into the dishwasher. The dishwasher works well. I wish the cycles were shorter. Light wash is still over 2 hours. Was not happy at first. First wash water came out all around the dishwasher on the floor. The clamp that holds the drain tube had come loose during the cycle and left water come out onto the floor. The repairman said that the clamp that came with the dishwasher came loose and was a spring clamp. He said the installer used what was provided by Maytag. He prefers a screw clamp for that reason. Said that is why he dislikes them. He always uses ™€œscrew clamps™€

Purchased through Home Depot. Dishwasher is great. A simple front panel to control the 4 cycles (Power Blast, Auto, Normal, and Quick) plus a few drying / water temp choices. One of the main selection criteria was "quietness" - old dishwasher (>10 yrs old) was not and could not be run if you wanted a conversation nearby. It is impossible to know what is "quiet" (some say 34dBA) but I will attest that 50dBA is quiet enough. You know it's running but barely.

I purchased this Maytag dishwasher at Lowes with a refrigerator. Installation was included in price. Delivery guy set up refrigerator but said they were not allowed to install dishwashers (or microwaves) and that ™€œanother company™€ would come to install the dishwasher. That was 2 days before Thanksgiving. I NEVER heard from the other company. I hired an electrician. My old dishwasher was a Bosch (hard wired). This Maytag is a plug in! Sits very low to the ground and is NOISY. I would turn this one back in an heartbeat. Avoid it at all costs.

I extensively shopped for a new dishwasher. I have only had Kenmore dishwashers (all had been manufactured by Whirlpool starting with our first purchase in 2000). I have loved them, there have been three in total with the most recent one lasting us about 8 years. I was raising a family, so many times our dishwasher ran 2x per day. Well it finally gave up on us so I began the search for a new one. Looking at the local big box stores as well as local appliance stores. I still preferred the layout of the Whirlpool brand products which includes Maytag and KitchenAid. The one hurdle was it had to be black, apparently stainless is still popular and some models are only made in stainless. I finally settled on this Maytag because the rack layout was like what I wanted and very much the same as my prior Kenmore dishwashers and seemed sturdy with not many bells and whistles (I just need it to wash and dry our dishes). I was giddy with excitement after waiting 3 weeks for the dishwasher to arrive. Well first off, the bottom rack was different than the one in the store. The rack I received was missing two rows of tines, which I use very much to put my 9x13 pans or tuck extra bowls in. Thankfully I kept the racks from my old dishwasher so it was an easy swap with the bottom rack (tho we ended up having to swap the wheels because my old rack rode a little higher making it too tall for some things in the silverware basket). Sadly I hate the top rack too and there is no way to swap my old rack out with the one in this model because the shape is entirely different. That is my beef with this dishwasher, the top rack! Compared to my old rack, it has two less tines per row and the higher center row doming up makes things not want to stay put (mainly plastic lids want to flop over). It is driving me batty! The dishwasher cleans well, but I am not really pleased with the layout. Whoever changed the racks, doesn't use the appliance apparently. I'm not sure how long I'll forge ahead with this dishwasher. I'm really trying to give it an honest go, but after 10 days of use, I still hate the top rack and feel like it just doesn't hold that many items like my old rack did. And really the silverware rack is dumb too because it has two large open compartments in addition to the two compartments with slits for utensils. The two larger open compartments (my old one had three that were narrower) makes it hard to get larger cooking utensils to stand up, they want to fall over and nest together. I feel like I wasted my husband's hard earned $$ on this dishwasher. It does clean well, but the layout is so annoying to me and I'm just not sure how long I can look past it. I may be shopping for a new dishwasher yet again and list this on Craigslist. Super disappointing. Possibly if I had gotten the one with the 3rd rack I'd be happier because I could put larger utensils and plastic lids there, but that was out of stock at the time. I was so hopeful that I really did my due diligence by going to the local stores to look at dishwashers, but I guess there are other things I didn't consider. I will reiterate again, it does clean well and it very roomy inside to have tall things on both the upper and lower rack, so it does have that going for it.
