Everything good so far except Oven temperature control variation from selected temperature selection. Oven on bake does not reach temp selected. It indicates when oven reaches the temp selected but is 50 -100 degrees lower. Have to increase temp to reach internal temp desired.

Switched from gas to electric

New to electric 4/20/2026

I just switched from gas to electric and I really love the oven, but it will take time for me to get used to the electric stovetop. I have to learn the heat levels of the various numbers, but I also miss being able to place larger pots on the stovetop to dry after washing them (there is no air space under the pots when placed on the smooth ceramic top). I also noticed that pots and pans turn around very easily on the ceramic stovetop because it is so smooth. Definitely an adjustment.

We've had a GE Profile Slide-In Electric Stove for about 8-10 years. It was an excellent appliance. When the control panel went corrupt, we purchased the GE 500 Series Slide-In Electic with Radiant Burners this week, and it is really beautiful. The controls knobs are large and sturdy and the settings panel is easy to see and select from. We never used Convection Oven in the prior model, so we did not mind not having it. It is really nice stove. The oven is bigger than the prior stove, so we should have a good time cooking big holiday meals.

Poor Design Creating Fire Hazard

The controls for the dual zone burner of the GRS500PVSS range are poorly designed and dangerous. The visual view of our stove DOES NOT match the illustration in the user's manual (see page 10). When the dial of our dual burner is turned to LO, the inner burner heats to HI. Then, as the dial is turned toward the HI setting, the burner actually goes to the LO setting. This flaw is not only serious - but it is also an accident / fire waiting to happen. If GE does not provide an immediate fix, we intend to demand a full refund on the range and will purchase a different product from a different manufacturer. It is hard to believe a mistake like this could make it all the way through design, testing, and manufacturing. And that leads one to question the robustness, reliability, and quality of all GE products.

Returning after 3 months

I purchased this appliance in October 2025 and had to exchange it for a new unit in December 2025 because a burner stopped working. In February an error message appeared on the appliance and the oven doesn™€™t work. We are returning this appliance and replacing with a different brand. Additionally, the control panel is positioned such that it is easy to turn on components of the unit by brushing up against the panel and the control panel depresses quite a bit when pushed; it should be built more sturdily.

They don't tell you in the advertising that you shouldn't use aluminum bottom, copper bottom or cast iron on the range top. You must read the manual AFTER you purchase the stove and open the box to find this out. Good luck keeping that pretty, shiny range top clean. The cleaner that is recommended is WORTHLESS. I recommend only purchasing the old style range with open burners. They are less expensive. As for reliability, it's too soon to tell. Be sure to read the "Terms and Conditions" for your post. It seems Haier reserves the right to delete any reviews they don't like.

This range is exactly what I was looking for, an electric range with the control knobs at the front and an electric oven that is that only, and not a convection one. My one dislike is the arrangement of the cooktop. The two largest (9 inch) "burners" are at the front. Granted, the one on the right is a double, with a 6 inch "burner". However, as a cook, it makes more sense to me to have the double "burner" at the front, along with one of the smaller, 6.5 inch, "burner". Of course, this might mean shifting or doing away with the Warmer Zone. That would be fine by me. I don't know anyone who cooks exclusively in pots or pans that have a 9 inch base.

the front burners are hard to use with smaller Pots. The left burner has a small and a large designation on the knob ( though only one ring) but if you turn the small burner on only it takes forever to heat up. The right one, even though it has a small and a large ring on the stovetop,only has one switch on the knob, so you can't use small pots on it. and again if you don't turn it on high it takes forever to heat up. Also it's very easy to turn the stove top on accidentally by just barely bumping into the knobs. It is pretty though.

Perfect temperature control

This oven was priced right and works perfectly. The temperature is steady, and it reached the desired temperature very quickly. The interior capacity is large, and I was able to fit several dishes on the different rack levels while still maintaining the desired temperature. I have had much more expensive ovens, that didn't perform as well as the GE. I would highly recommend this appliance, and I would buy it again.

For the value this Range Oven is great. The oven preheats fast, the burners heat fast. The cooktop cleans up easy, I use a mircofiber cloth that can be purchased anywhere. I waited a year to get a great deal from Lowes. The large capacity oven hold a large turkey. The 5-burner configuration is nice to have controls are easy to work and the cooktop is nice looking. Fingerprints wipe off easy too. The bottom drawer is small and made of light-weight material, but works for small stuff.
